Fans of FLCL remember Haruko's yellow Vespa as fondly as any character — heck, it pretty much was a character. So it's no surprise that the show's return would also see the return of the Vespa... this time with help from the company itself.
Vespa has recreated the show's take on their scooter (with a slightly more modern design), and will be displaying them around Japan to celebrate the theatrical release of FLCL Alternative and FLCL Progressive. Two theaters in Tokyo, one in Nagoya, and one in Osaka will display the Vespas.
Ikebukuro PARCO in Tokyo will also display a Vespa as part of their FLCL pop-up shop.
Visitors to any of these sites who take a photo of one of the display Vespas and post it to Instagram with the hashtag #VespaFLCL will be entered to win a sticker sheet. Plus, visitors to the Vespa site who fill out a questionnaire could win tickets to the cinema showings of Alternative and Progressive.
